Ho hum, forgot to actually post the news.
Battle through the Heavens is another series by Tian Can Tu Dou, same guy who wrote The Great Ruler and Wu Dong Qian Kun. BTTH is a bit more long winded, and there are teacups cracking in shock everywhere, not to mention the reaction chapters - but these are hallmarks of the author's writing, and if it suits your tastes then quite, quite fun.
In a land where no magic is present. A land where the strong make the rules and weak have to obey. A land filled with alluring treasures and beauty, yet also filled with unforeseen danger. Three years ago, Xiao Yan, who had shown talents none had seen in decades, suddenly lost everything. His powers, his reputation, and his promise to his mother. What sorcery has caused him to lose all of his powers? And why has his fiancee suddenly shown up?
There are no "official" arcs/volumes in the TL, but I dislike making ebooks without any demarcation by content and just throwing 50 chapters randomly together. In my view the first 96 chapters are a distinct arc - I called it "The Genius of Wu Tan City" because that's what this is about, a fallen prodigy down on his luck finally rising up and making the people around him take note.
The next arc (as I see it) is still ongoing (translation, I mean) - we're at chapter 210+ now - but it's nearing it's end. I plan to call it "The Search for the Heavenly Flame". Cool, right? Right?
